Miso Caramel Old Fashioned

Description

There is a useful confidence to Miso Caramel Old Fashioned. The recipe combines Bourbon, Miso caramel syrup, Bitters, Bitters tincture, and Expressed citrus peel. Dilution matters here: enough water opens the aromatics and softens the edges, while over-dilution would flatten the character of the spirit and modifiers.

It suits an unhurried evening, a pre-dinner pour or a late-night drink when you want something composed rather than flashy. Use fresh ice and serve promptly so the texture and aroma arrive at their best.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Bourbon
  • 10 ml Miso caramel syrup
  • 2 dashes Bitters
  • 5 ml Bitters tincture

  1. Add the liquid ingredients to a mixing glass with plenty of ice.
  2. Stir until very cold and lightly diluted.
