Description

The Hemingway Daiquiri, also known as the Papa Doble, was created for Ernest Hemingway at El Floridita bar in Havana. It is a variation of the classic Daiquiri but omits sugar in favor of maraschino liqueur.

This tart and dry cocktail became one of Hemingways favorite drinks.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Light Rum
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml Grapefruit Juice
  • 10 ml Maraschino Liqueur

Instructions

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a coupe glass.
  3. No garnish required.

120–240 ml Stemmed glass with a broad shallow bowl.

Best for: Daiquiri, Sidecar, Manhattan served up, Gimlet, Clover Club.

Garnish: Great for expressed citrus peels, cherries, and small edible flowers.
