Description

The Black Russian cocktail was created in 1949 by a Belgian bartender at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels. It was crafted for Perle Mesta, the U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg, symbolizing the Cold War era with its mix of Russian vodka and dark coffee liqueur.

This drink later inspired the creation of the White Russian with the addition of cream.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Vodka
  • 25 ml Coffee Liqueur

Instructions

  1. Fill a rocks glass with ice.
  2. Pour vodka and coffee liqueur over the ice.
  3. Stir gently and serve.
