Night Train Manhattan

Description

Night Train Manhattan is the sort of drink that makes sense from the first sip. The recipe combines Rye whiskey, Sweet vermouth syrup, Bitters, Coffee tincture, and Expressed citrus peel. Dilution matters here: enough water opens the aromatics and softens the edges, while over-dilution would flatten the character of the spirit and modifiers.

It suits an unhurried evening, a pre-dinner pour or a late-night drink when you want something composed rather than flashy. Use fresh ice and serve promptly so the texture and aroma arrive at their best.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Rye whiskey
  • 10 ml Sweet vermouth syrup
  • 2 dashes Bitters
  • 5 ml Coffee tincture
  • Ice
  • Expressed citrus peel

Instructions

  1. Add the liquid ingredients to a mixing glass with plenty of ice.
  2. Stir until very cold and lightly diluted.
  3. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice or served straight up.
  4. Garnish with a clean aromatic finish and serve immediately.
