Description

The Hemingway Daiquiri is brighter and drier than a standard Daiquiri. Rum provides the clean backbone, grapefruit adds a firm bittersweet edge, maraschino gives a measured almond-cherry note, and fresh lime keeps the finish sharp.

It is also known as the Hemingway Special. Shake it hard, serve it very cold and avoid adding extra sugar: the point of the drink is its lean, brisk character.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Light Rum
  • 40 ml Grapefruit Juice
  • 15 ml Maraschino Liqueur
  • 15 ml lime juice

Instructions

  1. Add the light rum, grapefruit juice, maraschino liqueur and fresh lime juice to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake hard until thoroughly chilled.
