Description

What works about Dirty Martini is the contrast between familiar cocktail logic and a more individual flavour combination. The recipe combines Gin, Dry Vermouth, and Olive brine. Dilution matters here: enough water opens the aromatics and softens the edges, while over-dilution would flatten the character of the spirit and modifiers.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gin
  • 10 ml Dry Vermouth
  • 10 ml Olive brine
  • Ice
  • Orange Twist

Equipment needed

Bar Spoon – Used to stir the drink smoothly with ice before serving. Muddler – Useful for gently pressing herbs, fruit or sugar when building the drink.

Instructions

  1. Add the liquid ingredients to a mixing glass with plenty of ice.
  2. Stir until very cold and lightly diluted.
  3. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice or served straight up.
  4. Garnish with a clean aromatic finish and serve immediately.
