Description

Remember the Maine is a rich and slightly bitter whiskey cocktail that dates back to the 1930s. It was popularized by Charles H. Baker in "The Gentlemans Companion."

It is a Manhattan variation with cherry liqueur and a hint of absinthe, making it both complex and smooth.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Rye whiskey
  • 20 ml Sweet Vermouth
  • 10 ml Cherry Heering
  • 1 dash Absinthe
  • 1 cherry (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with a cherry.
