Description

A variation of the classic martini, the Alaska cocktail combines gin with the herbal complexity of Yellow Chartreuse. This Prohibition-era drink remains a sophisticated choice for those who enjoy a strong yet balanced flavour.

It is believed to have been first recorded in Jacques Straubs 1913 book "Drinks," making it an enduring classic among spirit-forward cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Yellow Chartreuse
  • 1 dash Orange Orange bitters
  • 1 piece Lemon twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Add gin, Yellow Chartreuse, and orange bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice.
  2. Stir well until chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.
