Oaxaca Old Fashioned

Oaxaca Old Fashioned

Description

The Oaxaca Old Fashioned is one of the great modern agave cocktails: bold, elegant and quietly smoky. It takes the familiar structure of an Old Fashioned, with spirit, sweetness, bitters and citrus oils, and gives it a Mexican soul, blending smooth reposado tequila with the earthy depth of mezcal.

The result is rich and spirit-forward without feeling heavy. Reposado tequila brings warmth, oak and rounded agave notes, while mezcal adds a subtle campfire smokiness that lingers beautifully in the glass. A touch of agave syrup softens the edges, Angostura bitters add spice and complexity, and the expressed orange peel lifts everything with bright aromatic oils.

Served over a large cube in a lowball glass, it is a slow-sipping cocktail with real character: refined enough for Old Fashioned drinkers, but distinctive enough to feel completely its own.
