Margarita

Description

The Margarita is a classic, refreshing cocktail known for its perfect balance of sweet, sour, and salty flavours. With a tangy lime base and a touch of sweetness, it is elevated by the boldness of tequila, often served with a salted rim that enhances the flavour contrast. It is a favourite summer drink and can be enjoyed either shaken with ice or blended into a frozen treat.

Ingredients

• 60 ml Tequila (preferably blanco)
• 30 ml Freshly squeezed lime juice
• 30 ml Triple sec (orange liqueur, like Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
• Salt (for rimming the glass)
• Lime wheel or wedge (for garnish)
• Ice

Instructions

Prepare the glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita or rocks glass. Dip the rim into a plate of salt to coat.

Mix the drink: In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake: Shake well for about 15 and 20 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels cold.

Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass, either over fresh ice (for a shaken margarita) or neat (if you prefer no ice).

Garnish: Add a lime wedge or wheel to the rim for a finishing touch.
