Description

Mexican Sunset earns its place in the glass by keeping the idea clear. The recipe combines Tequila, Peach Schnapps, Amaretto, Pineapple juice, and Grenadine. Fresh acidity gives the drink its shape, while sweeter and aromatic ingredients round the edges rather than masking the base.

Serve it very cold as a first drink, a weekend cocktail or a lively round with friends. Taste before serving and make small adjustments; balance is easier to preserve that way.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Tequila
  • 30 ml Peach Schnapps
  • 30 ml Amaretto
  • 60 ml Pineapple juice
  • 23 ml Grenadine
  • Ice
  • 1 lime wedge

Equipment needed

Bar Spoon – Used to stir the drink smoothly with ice before serving. Muddler – Useful for gently pressing herbs, fruit or sugar when building the drink.

Instructions

  1. Add the tequila, peach schnapps, amaretto and pineapple juice to a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake hard until thoroughly chilled, then strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.
  3. Slowly pour in the grenadine so it settles through the drink and creates a sunset effect.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge.
