Love Hearts Fizz

Description

The charm of Love Hearts Fizz is in the contrast: familiar flavours, but with enough shape to make it memorable. The bubbles are not just there for decoration: they lift the aroma, stretch the sweetness and make Gin, Violet Liqueur, Prosecco and Strawberry Liqueur feel lighter in the mouth. That is why the drink lands so well as an aperitif, a brunch serve or a first drink before food.

Keep the build cold and avoid over-stirring after the fizz goes in, because the sparkle is part of the flavour.

Ingredients

  • 35 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Violet Liqueur (creme de violette or violet liqueur)
  • 15 ml Raspberry Liqueur (berry liqueur)
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • Prosecco to top

Instructions

Lightly crush a few Love Hearts sweets into a fine powder. Rim a chilled flute or coupe glass with the crushed sweets.

In a shaker with ice, combine gin, crème de violette, berry liqueur, lemon juice, and sugar syrup.

Shake well until chilled.

Strain into the prepared glass.

Top with Prosecco or sparkling wine.

Drop one whole Love Heart sweet into the glass for a playful fizz and garnish with another perched on the rim.
