Hotel Georgia is built around gin, apricot liqueur, lemon juice, giving it a clear identity from the first sip. Its roots are more inspirational than archival, borrowing the confidence of classic bar families while giving them a contemporary flavour direction.

What makes it great is the balance: the base brings structure, the fruit or aromatic element gives personality, and the chilled serve keeps everything crisp. It has enough theatre for a cocktail menu but remains simple enough for a confident home bartender.

It works beautifully for weekends, garden drinks and pre-dinner rounds because the flavour is clear without becoming hard work.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Apricot liqueur
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 10 ml Orgeat
  • Ice
  • garnish

Equipment needed

Cocktail Shaker – Used to chill, dilute and integrate the cocktail before serving. Muddler – Useful for gently pressing herbs, fruit or sugar when building the drink. Fine Mesh Strainer – Use for a polished double-strain when citrus, fruit or herbs are shaken.

Instructions

  1. Warm the serving glass with hot water, then discard the water.
  2. Add the spirit, sweetener and citrus or spice elements to the glass.
  3. Top with hot water, coffee, cider or wine as required and stir gently.
  4. Garnish neatly and serve while warm.
