Cable Car

Description

The Cable Car is a modern classic with an old-school soul. Created by Tony Abou-Ganim in San Francisco, it takes the familiar sour structure and gives it a warmer, spiced-rum personality. Orange curaçao adds round citrus sweetness, lemon keeps the drink lifted, and the sugared rim turns the first sip into something playful and aromatic.

It is a great example of a cocktail that feels both polished and friendly. The spiced rum gives vanilla and baking-spice notes, but the lemon prevents it from becoming heavy. Serve it cold in a coupe and it has that rare balance of bar-room elegance and easy crowd appeal.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Spiced Rum
  • 30 ml Orange Curacao
  • 30 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml Simple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled sugar-rimmed coupe glass.
