Description

The Brandy Alexander is one of the great after-dinner classics: brandy gives warmth and structure, dark crème de cacao brings chocolate depth, and fresh cream softens the drink without turning it into a milkshake.

The best version is properly cold, lightly aerated and restrained on sweetness. Equal parts keep the drink balanced, while freshly grated nutmeg adds aroma just before the first sip.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Brandy
  • 30 ml Dark Creme de Cacao
  • 30 ml Heavy Cream
  • Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Add the brandy, dark crème de cacao and heavy cream to a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds until the drink is cold and lightly aerated.
  3. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Finish with freshly grated nutmeg.
