Mandarin Vanilla Margarita

Description

Mandarin Vanilla Margarita uses mandarin for softer citrus and vanilla for aroma rather than sweetness. Blanco tequila still leads, triple sec reinforces orange oils and lime provides the sharpness needed to keep mandarin from tasting like breakfast juice.

Five millilitres of vanilla syrup is enough to round the citrus and echo tequila’s natural vanilla-adjacent notes without turning the drink dessert-like.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Blanco tequila
  • 15 ml Triple Sec
  • 25 ml Mandarin Purée
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • 5 ml Vanilla syrup
  • 1 piece Lime Wheel (for garnish)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Add tequila, triple sec, mandarin purée, lime juice and vanilla syrup to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds.
  3. Fine strain into a chilled margarita glass or rocks glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with mandarin peel if available or a lime wheel.
