Gochujang Margarita

Description

Gochujang Margarita uses fermented chilli paste for more than heat. A purpose-made gochujang syrup brings umami, fruit and gentle fermentation alongside the classic tequila, lime and orange-ligueur structure.

Agave is kept minimal because the syrup already contributes sweetness. A Tajín half-rim gives the drink an optional salty chilli edge without forcing every sip to taste seasoned.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Blanco tequila
  • 20 ml Triple Sec
  • 25 ml lime juice
  • 8 ml Gochujang Syrup
  • 5 ml Agave syrup
  • Tajín Seasoning
  • 1 piece Lime Wheel (for garnish)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Run a lime wedge around half the rim of a margarita or rocks glass and dip that half into Tajín.
  2. Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, gochujang syrup and agave syrup to a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds.
  4. Fine strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice or serve straight up.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel.
