Witch’s Cauldron Punch

Description

Punches date back to the 17th century, when sailors mixed spirits, citrus, and sugar to make drinks more palatable. The Witch’s Cauldron Punch continues this tradition with a theatrical twist: a black cauldron bowl, neon-green Midori, pineapple, and lime. Dry ice fog adds spectacle, making it the ultimate Halloween party centrepiece.

Ingredients

  • 200 ml White rum
  • 150 ml Midori
  • 200 ml Pineapple juice
  • 100 ml lime juice
  • Ginger Ale to top

Equipment needed

Instructions

  1. In a large punch bowl (preferably black or cauldron-shaped), combine the white rum, Midori, pineapple juice, lime juice, and ginger ale.
  2. Stir gently to mix without losing carbonation.
  3. Add large ice cubes or an ice block to keep the punch cold.
  4. Just before serving, carefully add a small piece of food-safe dry ice for a bubbling fog effect (ensure guests don’t consume the dry ice).
  5. Float lime wheels or melon balls for garnish.
  6. Ladle the punch into individual cups to serve.
