Description

Minted Melon Mule is built around vodka, melon syrup, citrus juice, giving it a clear identity from the first sip. Its roots are more inspirational than archival, borrowing the confidence of classic bar families while giving them a contemporary flavour direction.

What makes it great is the balance: the base brings structure, the fruit or aromatic element gives personality, and the chilled serve keeps everything crisp. It has enough theatre for a cocktail menu but remains simple enough for a confident home bartender.

It works beautifully for weekends, garden drinks and pre-dinner rounds because the flavour is clear without becoming hard work.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Vodka
  • 20 ml Melon syrup
  • 20 ml citrus juice
  • 10 ml Mint Cordial
  • Soda Water to top
  • Ice
  • garnish

Equipment needed

Bar Spoon – Used to stir the drink smoothly with ice before serving. Muddler – Useful for gently pressing herbs, fruit or sugar when building the drink. Bottle Opener – Useful if the serve uses bottled soda, ginger beer or sparkling wine.

Instructions

  1. Add the spirit, citrus and flavouring ingredients to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake briefly until the base is cold.
  3. Strain into the serving glass filled with fresh ice.
  4. Top with the sparkling ingredient, stir gently and garnish.
