Description

Corpse Reviver No.1 was first mentioned in Harry Craddock's 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book.

Unlike its lighter counterpart, the No.2, this variation is a robust and warming drink made with cognac, Calvados, and sweet vermouth.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Cognac
  • 23 ml Calvados
  • 23 ml Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 dash Orange Orange bitters

Instructions

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice and add cognac, calvados, vermouth, and orange bitters.
  2. Stir well and strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with an orange twist.

120–240 ml Stemmed glass with a broad shallow bowl.

Best for: Daiquiri, Sidecar, Manhattan served up, Gimlet, Clover Club.

Garnish: Great for expressed citrus peels, cherries, and small edible flowers.
