Blueberry Lavender Smash

Description

Blueberry Lavender Smash is fruit-forward without becoming jammy. Gin and lemon give the drink structure, blueberry syrup brings dark berry depth and mint keeps the middle fresh.

Lavender is capped at 5 ml because floral flavours become medicinal quickly. Used this way, it behaves more like aroma than sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Gin
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml Blueberry syrup
  • 5 ml Lavender syrup
  • 6 mint leafs
  • 1 mint sprig (for garnish)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Add mint leaves, blueberry syrup and lemon juice to a shaker and press the mint gently once or twice.
  2. Add gin and lavender syrup, then fill with ice.
  3. Shake for 10 to 12 seconds.
  4. Double strain over crushed ice in a rocks glass.
  5. Garnish with a mint sprig and fresh blueberries if available.
