The Whiskey Sour is a classic cocktail that strikes a perfect balance between the bold flavour of whiskey and the tartness of lemon juice, with a touch of sweetness from the simple syrup. It is often garnished with a cherry and sometimes includes egg white for a frothy finish.
Instructions
Mix the drink: In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. If using egg white, add it to the shaker.
Dry shake: If you have added egg white, shake without ice first (dry shake) for about 15 seconds to froth the egg.
Shake: Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until well chilled.
Strain: Strain the mixture into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
Garnish: Add a lemon wheel or cherry to the glass for garnish.
