The original Bramble, invented by bartender Dick Bradsell in 1984 at Fred’s Club in Soho, was designed as a distinctly British cocktail - a gin sour enriched with blackberry liqueur to evoke hedgerow berries. The Raspberry Bramble keeps the same sour base of gin, lemon, and sugar but replaces crème de mûre (blackberry liqueur) with raspberry liqueur (such as Chambord) or muddled fresh raspberries. The result is a vivid pink drink that’s fruity, zesty, and eye-catching. With its crushed ice and jewel-like colour, the Raspberry Bramble is a true showpiece cocktail.
