Description

The Grasshopper traces its origins to early mixology traditions, evolving over time through bars and beach resorts. Known for its cultural flair and colourful presentation, it remains a modern favourite.

Ingredients

• 25ml crème de menthe
• 25ml white crème de cacao
• 25ml single cream
• ice
• mint sprig
• 25g melted chocolate (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the garnish first. Take a fresh sprig of mint and remove the lower leaves. Dip the exposed stalk into melted chocolate, holding it gently by the top leaves. Place on a plate or tray to set.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the liqueurs and cream. Shake vigorously until the shaker feels cold to the touch. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or small coupe. Finish by garnishing with the chocolate-dipped mint sprig.
