Double Dip Margarita

Description

What makes Double Dip Margarita worth making is the way its flavours move across the glass. The sour structure gives the drink its discipline: spirit for weight, citrus for energy and sweetness for shape. Tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice and sherbet powder should feel bright and deliberate, with the tart edge making the flavour pop rather than vanish.

The best version tastes alive, not merely acidic; it should leave a clean finish and make the next sip feel inviting.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Tequila
  • 25 ml Orange Liqueur
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml Cherry Heering (cherry syrup)
  • 1 dash Salt (sherbet rim)
  • Ice
  • 1 piece Maraschino Cherry (with lime wheel, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the glass by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass. Then dip the rim into sherbet powder to coat, giving a fizzy, nostalgic edge.

Mix the drink by filling a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and cherry syrup.

Shake well for 15–20 seconds until chilled, then strain into the sherbet-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish with a lime wheel and cherry skewer. Serve.
