The Aperol Sour is a modern reinterpretation of the traditional sour cocktail structure, which typically includes a spirit, citrus, and sugar. Inspired by the global rise in popularity of the Aperol Spritz, bartenders began experimenting with Aperol in new formats beyond sparkling wine. The Aperol Sour gained traction in the 2010s as a creative alternative to more common sours like the Whiskey Sour. It delivers the same frothy citrus kick, but with Aperol’s distinctive bittersweet and herbal flavour, making it both refreshing and complex.
